Headhunted by Google
I've been headhunted by Google! I received an email from a recruiter. Looked legitimate, although it didn't contain a salutation. The telling sentence was
we found your resume on the Web, and we were intrigued.Right.
I started a Google Search and, based on what was scattered through the email, entered this:
resume Accenture "project manager" elearning
Now I can't guarantee what will happen if you do the same on the day you read this, if you choose to do so, but extraordinarily the number one search item on this day is:

It makes sense that Google recruiters should be using their own search technology to find good people.
I headed off to Jobs at Google and found dozens of jobs on offer. They really are in the midst of a global recruitment drive. But in Australia, all the project management openings are in Sydney, not Melbourne where I live. I wrote back with thanks and said that I'd be interested so long as I didn't have to relocate.
Here's the response I got:
We are hiring people in Sydney now! Please send me your CV.Looks like the reply was written by an automaton too...
