Working in the field of deliberation

I'm pleased to report that I'm now an active worker in my new chosen field.

  1. I'm working for Dr Lyn Carson as her part-time Research Assistant at University of Sydney. She is a pre-eminent deliberative designer, analyst and academic and it is a great privilege to be in her employ. Most of the research support tasks ahead of me I can complete from my home in Melbourne. My tools of trade are my PC and my phone.
  2. I've been retained as a consultant to Surf Coast Shire council as they prepare to run a Citizens Jury to help them form policy regarding an aspect of infrastructure planning. This is the setting for a case study that will form the backbone for my Masters Degree dissertation. My focus will be on how learning will be prepared and delivered by council staff and other subject-matter experts so that citizens are placed in the best position to deliberate confidently.
  3. I've been selected as one of several table facilitators for the Community Summit to be run by the City of Port Phillip.
