Citizens' Parliament underway

After intense preparation, the Australian Citizens' Parliament (CP) is well underway. This past weekend I helped run the first two of 11 regional meetings, the inaugural one in Canberra and the second way out west in Fremantle. In all, 150 participants will be introduced to their deliberative task as part of the CP. The image shows Janette Hartz-Karp facilitating in the garage of her CUSP facility in Fremantle (image credit: Chiara Pacifici). So far, most participants have told me that they where fortunate and privileged to have been randomly selected. In one way or other they described it enthusiastically as an adventurous opportunity for learning and engaging in something really constructive. I can't help but feel chuffed to be on this journey with them.
