Countering debate hate
Obama is running Town Meetings about his health bill. But the respectful and deliberative events of early New England have been replaced with stage-managed events that promote what has already been decided. It is no wonder that the libertarian right boycott the events and stage nasty demonstrations outside. I purposely linked a Fox News story to illustrate the distortions flamed by right-wing media: as I write this there are 2363 mostly angry and irrational comments.
While those who want a public health system proceed in civil and generous tones, they are no match for the immoral warfare waged by the extreme right. I know too many Americans who are sucked in to believing their crap. There is no debate in hate.
