My research relies on transcripts of table group conversations. But the environment amplified noise, people spoke softly and often simultaneously. With a limited budget, I gained the best recordings I could.
I want to celebrate the work of Digital & Audio Transcription Services in Brisbane, who completed the transcription under contract. Director Tara Stobart was brilliant to work with. The difficulty of the project must have been overwhelming, but I never heard any cursing! It continues to amaze me how she and her staff managed to figure out so much of what was said. They did a superb job at a competitive rate.
