Libraries to convene deliberative engagement

The Kettering Foundation and the American Library Association are collaborating to promote public deliberation in library facilities, which are often just about perfect for the purpose. The Foundation will provide training for librarians to be facilitators. Here is the announcement by the ALA.

Two years ago when we were just beginning to plan the online phase of the Australian Citizens Parliament, we needed an example “proposal” to see if our workflow framework would work. Off the top of my head I came up with a proposal about using libraries as deliberative venues. I didn’t blog about it then, that will teach me. But at least you know how fully supportive I am of the idea.

Now the question is how to make it happen in Australia.
